For this VOGUE Wedding, we shot on a two-storey American-style courtyard set. The DP and I wanted the whole thing to stay natural and keep the shadows that belong there, so we worked by subtraction from the start. Most of the light came from a Liteflow Mirror Reflector paired with reflectors of different sizes, which let a single light source cover both directional light and an even ambient base. Some of the rooms had a balcony too small to use, or none at all, so a lot of angles left no real position for a light. I extended the mirror on a Boom arm to keep the direction in line with the real daylight, so none of it feels off. On a tight schedule, rather than set up a lot of lights to reshape the whole space, I would hold on to the mood that was already there.
